Conditions We Treat

At Northeast Louisiana Center for Eating Disorders, we provide specialized, evidence-based care for adults experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns. Whether you have a formal diagnosis or are simply struggling with your relationship with food, our team is here to help.


Eating Disorders: 


Anorexia Nervosa

A serious eating disorder characterized by food restriction, intense fear of weight gain, and a distorted body image.


Atypical Anorexia Nervosa

Individuals experience the same thoughts and behaviors as anorexia nervosa but may be in a larger body despite significant weight loss.


Bulimia Nervosa

Recurrent episodes of binge eating followed by compensatory behaviors such as self-induced vomiting, laxative misuse, fasting, or excessive exercise.


Binge Eating Disorder (BED)

Frequent episodes of eating large amounts of food accompanied by feelings of loss of control, shame, or distress.


Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)

Restricted food intake due to sensory sensitivities, fear of eating, or lack of interest in food, resulting in nutritional deficiencies or impaired health.


Other Specified Feeding or Eating Disorder (OSFED)

Clinically significant eating disorder symptoms that do not meet the full criteria for another diagnosis but still require specialized treatment.


Unspecified Feeding or Eating Disorder (UFED)

Eating disorder symptoms causing significant distress or impairment that do not fit a specific diagnostic category.

We provide care for adults (18+) of all genders experiencing eating disorders or disordered eating. Every treatment plan is individualized and developed through collaboration among our multidisciplinary team to address each person's medical, nutritional, and psychological needs.

You don't have to meet every diagnostic criterion to deserve help. If your relationship with food, eating, exercise, or body image is interfering with your health or quality of life, support is available. Recovery is possible, and we're here to help you take the first step.
